This print captures the glow of warm summer days, drenched in sunshine, when bees hum gently from bloom to bloom, gathering nectar from sweetly scented flowers. One of only two remaining prints from this much-loved edition, it celebrates golden sunflowers, drifting bees, and the soft purple haze of lavender fields.
It is the Artist’s proof -Second and has a small visible misprint in the skyline. The sky colour is also more vivd than the original edition. You can see more in the photos.
It is the proof from a Ltd edition of 30 which is now sold out.
It is marked AP - Artists Proof and has been signed and dated on the front.
An artist's proof is an impression of a print taken in the printmaking process to see the current printing state of a plate while the plate is being worked on by the artist and to test the colours of an edition. It will therefore differ to the rest of the edition. Because there are fewer of them in existence some art collectors deem them to be of more value.
