This print features tulips in my garden framed by the flowers of a Cornus Tree and Prunus padus colorata cherry blossom. My cat is sitting in the grass and the Spring sunshine is out. Happy days.
This is an Artist’s Proof (AP) -Second- with a few minor printing errors along the edges of the image and around the tulip petals. Please see photos
AP for an Edition of 30 (Edition now sold out)
An artist's proof is an impression of a print taken in the printmaking process to see the current printing state of a plate while the plate is being worked on by the artist and to test the colours of an edition. It will therefore differ to the rest of the edition. Because there are fewer of them in existence some art collectors deem them to be of more value.
Printed with oil based relief inks on 300gsm soft white Somerset velvet paper.
Unmounted
Unframed
Signed and dated on the front
Image size 30 x 30cm
Unmounted size approx 40 x 40cm
A Linocut Print is a relief printing technique where lino is cut, inked and rolled to create an inverse relief print, generating the image as seen.
