Drawn from a fleeting spring moment, this original linocut print captures the delicate dance of ornamental poppies swaying beneath the hum of bees in my garden. Their vivid presence moved me to translate nature’s rhythm into print—layer by layer, colour by colour—across six hand-carved blocks. Only 30 prints exist in this limited edition, each one signed, numbered, and dated by hand. This one is the artist’s proof - It has a slighlty darker coloured sky to the original edition and there is a very small blemish in the paper near the signature.

An artist's proof is an impression of a print taken in the printmaking process to see the current printing state of a plate while the plate is being worked on by the artist and to test the colours of an edition. It will therefore differ to the rest of the edition. Because there are fewer of them in existence some art collectors deem them to be of more value.
Printed with oil based relief inks on 300gsm soft white Somerset velvet paper.
