One of only two remaining prints from this delicate floral linocut edition, featuring a Great Tit nestled among the blooms of rhododendrons and camellias. Printed in 2020, the piece was inspired by a May walk through Sandringham Woods, Norfolk, when the forest is awash with colour and spring is at its most abundant.
This is an artist proof printed before the rest of the Ltd Edition. In this proof there are few small printing errors such as the small line above the back of the bird - see photos.
An artist's proof is an impression of a print taken in the printmaking process to see the current printing state of a plate while the plate is being worked on by the artist and to test the colours of an edition. It will therefore differ to the rest of the edition. Because there are fewer of them in existence some art collectors deem them to be of more value.
