sold out

his handmade linocut print features one of my favourite birds, the Bee-eater. I was inspired to create it after encountering a colony in Menorca this summer, where they swooped gracefully across the sun-baked farmland, catching insects mid-flight. Their brilliant, sunlit plumage was a dazzling spectacle. The print is composed of five individually cut lino blocks, each carefully hand-pulled through the press to bring the scene to life.

This is an Artist Proof Second as there are parts of the print where the ink hasn’t printed properly. Please see photos.
AP for an Edition of 20

An artist's proof is an impression of a print taken in the printmaking process to see the current printing state of a plate while the plate is being worked on by the artist and to test the colours of an edition. It will therefore differ to the rest of the edition. Because there are fewer of them in existence some art collectors deem them to be of more value.

Printed with oil based relief inks on 300gsm soft white Somerset velvet paper.
Not Mounted
Unframed
Signed and dated on the front
Image size 30 x 21cm
Unmounted size approx 27 ×37cm

Linocut Print – A relief printing technique where lino is cut, inked and rolled to create an inverse relief print, generating the image as seen.
Unmounted - Unframed
